Exceptional woven wool bedspread, captivating with its unusually rich and multicolored palette.
The exact origin of the bedspread is unknown. It is believed to be Lithuanian and may have been woven in the Dzūkija region.
The bedspread is sewn down the middle from two woven parts – a characteristic production method of old household textiles, where narrower loom-woven sections were joined together to create one larger textile piece.
The preserved textile can be used today not only for its original purpose – as a bedspread, but also as a vibrant textile accent in contemporary interiors: on a sofa, armchair, bed, or as a decorative wall textile piece.
