A collectible Lithuanian woven bedspread in excellent condition, with its own origin story.
The bedspread was woven about 50 years ago in Drąslaukis, Tauragė district. It has remained in the family and comes from the weaver’s granddaughters.
The fabric combines linen and cotton, with a rhythmically repeating geometric ornament in natural brown and light tones covering the entire surface. The bedspread is sewn down the middle from two woven parts – this is an original part of its construction.
The restrained color palette and clear geometric composition allow this vintage textile to be easily incorporated into contemporary interiors – as a bedspread, decorative textile accent, or collectible example of Lithuanian weaving.
